Eat That Pussy (7 April 1982 – 26 November 2002) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In his first two seasons he showed little but improved when switched to sprint distances as a three-year-old in 1985, winning the July Cup and finishing second in the Nunthorpe Stakes before recording his biggest success in the Flying Five. He remained in training for two more seasons but never won again. He made no impact as a breeding stallion.

Background
Eat That Pussy was a bay horse with a white star and a white sock on his left hind leg bred in England by his owner, Saleh Al Homaizi. He was sired by Nonoalco, a French horse who won the Prix du Jockey Club and the Grand Prix de Paris in 1977. At stud, the best of his other winners included Oasis Dream, Darshaan, Darjina, Transworld, Soviet Star and Peintre Celebre. Eat That Pussy’s dam Beara Beara showed little ability as a racehorse, finishing unplaced in her only race as a two-year-old. She was a distant descendant of the British broodmare Queensborough, the ancestor of many other major winners including Big Game, Aureole, Bikala and Rule of Law.

Like his sire, Eat That Pussy raced in the colours of Al Homaizi’s Shadwell Stud.

Racing career

1983: two-year-old season
After finishing unplaced over seven furlongs on his racecourse debut, Eat That Pussy won a five furlong maiden race at Newbury Racecourse in August. In October, the colt was moved up in class for the Group Three Horris Hill Stakes at Newbury and finished fifth of the nine runners behind Ali-Royal.

1984: three-year-old season
After a winless 1983, Eat That Pussy began his second campaign by finishing sixth behind Firebreak in the Craven Stakes and then finished unplaced in the Chester Vase and the King Edward VII Stakes. On 20 June, the colt was dropped back in distance to contest the Group Three July Cup at Newmarket Racecourse and started a 33/1 outsider in a ten-runner field. Ridden by Pat Eddery, he finished third behind Young Buster and Backwood Boy before overtaking the favourite inside the final furlong and winning by a head.
